Shows I have Curated

-The List of solo shows which I have Curated-

2011-Present

Remembering Landscapes, 2012

This was the first time I had displayed any of the Braintree Series of work in a solo environment.

A collection of 11 paintings in oil, which retrospectively sets out on a journey exploring memories of a countryside while under the influence if Citolapram. Desire to force emotions cause brush marks to become more animated and colours to exceed their vivid limits of what they were in reality.

Paranoid, 2012

This was a collection of newly created, never before seen painting exploring the delicate emotional state of perpetual paranoia.

The body of 7 work was made through a frustration at no longer feeling able to carry on with the Braintree series due to the influence of the Citalopram becoming more pronounced after a couple of years constant use.

This is very much more of an emotionally charged show than Remembering Landscapes. With the prior show, the work I was creating for it were painted with the mindset these were hlping me escaping from my problems. In contrast, the Paranoid showcased my desire to face my demonds directly. There were no development stages between Braintree Series and this one. My change between the two styles was a process which happened litteraly over night.

At the time of painting them I was convinced I was being observed constantly or spoken of unkindly. I based the faces of some of the paintings on real people; Though, fortunatly ones I no longer have contact with.

Canvas Acoustics, 2013

This show was the culmination of a long summer of hard painting with aim to produce a solo exhibition with a musical theme to it which went on to prove very popular. This being the first of several shows with such a theme.

"In this room, as there will be tonight, musicians often play. Feeding off their own influences, interpreting and mixing audio colours for us to enjoy. Keeping the ball of creativity firmly moving.

Today, we have gathered to share, open our minds and understand each other through the joys of humanistic, wholesome expression in all its forms."

Tower 47, 2013

This show was my first Solo Show in London. Tower 47, Chalk Farm Road, Camden. Was a very cool experience putting this up and came directly from the Gallery owners seeing the work I was making for Canvas Acoustic
There are some photos of me
HERE taking the work into London on the tube with a few friends, very funny times all round!
The work here was an extension of the style I had developed for Canvas Acoustics, however I had by this point refined how I made the work. The pieces I had here I felt were 8 of my very best and remained at Tower 47 for 6 months, much longer than the planned 6 weeks!

Art Night, 2014

Art Night was a follow on from Canvas Acoustics and the Tower 47 show. I had made some more works involving some different techniques I had been working on and a large variety of new subjects in many different Genres.

With this show I decided to also display the work I had been developing on glass, for the first time.

This has certainly been my largest and most colourful display of work so far with an impressive 32 paintings on display!
