Canvas Acoustics
Welcome to Canvas Acoustics. This series of work was made for my Residency at The Practice Roomz. The paintings had to fill a music recording studio, which explains the theme. They also draw on styles I had developed with previous painting series; Braintree, Living Colour and Noise.
I wanted to pull on all my strongest ideas I had previously developed through the older series. The free flowing backgrounds lend themselves to notions of freedom, lively activity, dynamisms. The Julian Opie-esque faces belie the duality and control of musicianship.
